Rules

​​

• Genres: We accept films of various genres including, but not limited to, narrative, documentary, animation, experimental, and student films.

​

• Submission Deadline: The deadline for film submissions is September 1st, 2024. Late submissions will not be considered.

​

• Film Length: Short films should be under 30 minutes in duration, while feature-length films have no restrictions on length. We encourage filmmakers to submit their best work, whether it's a concise short or an epic feature.

​

• Language and Subtitles: Films in languages other than English must be subtitled in English.

​

• Originality: All submitted films must be the original work of the filmmaker(s) submitting the entry.

​

• Clearance of Rights: Filmmakers must have obtained all necessary permissions and clearances for any copyrighted material featured in their films.

​

• Multiple Entries: Filmmakers may submit multiple entries, but each film requires a separate submission form and entry fee.

​

• Premiere Status: Films that have been publicly screened in the UK prior to the festival dates (October 25th-27th, 2024) are not eligible for competition.

• Screening Formats: For film submissions, please send your entries in DCP - if you can't please email at info@wlff.co.uk

​

• Selection Process: All submitted films will be reviewed by a selection committee, and the chosen films will be notified by September 15th, 2024.

​​

• Awards: Various awards will be presented during the festival, including Best Narrative Feature, Best Documentary Feature, Best Short Film, and Audience Choice Award.

​

• Attendance: Filmmakers whose works are selected for screening are encouraged to attend the festival to participate in Q&A sessions and networking opportunities.

​

• Promotion: The festival reserves the right to use excerpts from submitted films for promotional purposes.

​

• Judging: The decisions of the festival jury are final.
